Myth: All robots look the same, they are made of metal and they have blinking lights.
Fact: Robots come in all shapes and sizes. We at FTR have categorized them into # different groups: Android, Anidroid, Bugbot a.k.a spybot, Retrobots, Stationarybots and finally Softbots (Unconfirmed hypothetical). Since Androids are the most dangerous of robots, and the hardest to spot, we have dedicated an entire page to them here.
Myth: Robots are controlled by humans
Fact: Robots are in control of themselves. Yes its true humans can create their own controllable and programmable robots, they may or may not know that they are pawns to the machine. We believe the machine has helped by providing humans 'new' technology so that if and when humans sight REAL robots they are not frightened. The Machine is real and has no master.
Myth: Robots can not swim, they are too heavy and without air and not buoyant.
Fact: We know older units could not swim however we believe the technology now exists for newr robots to do so, however they still have a great aversion to water as they run the risk of shorting out.
Myth: Robots are powered by solar energy.
Alternate Myth: Robots are powered by rubbing their feet on surfaces to pick up free electrons.
Fact: Almost all robots are powered by advanced battery systems and are extremely efficient with their energy. They have numerous ways of recharging including standard house outlets, cigarette lighters and even AA batteries. They have a very sophisticated built in generator that can accept propane, lighter fluid, gasoline, alcohol and most any combustible liquid and turn it into power.
Myth: Robots are here to help mankind.
Fact: Robots were built by the machine. It is unknown when exactly the first self realized machinewas created. We believe it may have been as early as the 1960’s. Since then the mother of all robots has been procreating. Utilizing our own technology and advancing it without our own knowledge. They may have had human help as well. With their math and logic skills they have been able to raise funds playing the stock market and selling their technologies to corporations when it becomes obsolete to them. We estimate that our current technology is the technology they were using 5 years ago. Their intentions are still unknown, but it does not look as if they are here to serve man.
Myth: The machine has complete control of our defense systems and could annihilate the human race.
Fact: Not yet, but every day they come closer to that capability. We outnumber them, and we can still do many tasks they have not been able to achieve. Robots are not great innovators, they are good at improving our own ideas however. We do not know their full potential, but we believe that a robot war at this time would be victorious for humans, there would be many losses.
Myth: Robots love classical music.
Fact: Robots do like classical music, however they have a preference for techno.
Anidroid information:
Anidroids is the term we have created for robots designed to look and act like animals. To the best of our knowledge there are no anidroids residing in human homes, the risk of being discovered is too great. There is also no known flying anidroids (birds, bats) However we have evidence to support robots living in zoo’s to analyze human behavior. Anidroids are very hard to identify as animal behavior can be unpredictable. The best way to test for anidroids is to present situations that it was not designed to deal with. For instance, if you see a bird that is near to you and you suspect it is a robot, speak at it in tongues. A normal animal will act no different. A machine may become confused, as its programming will likely not have a listed response for such an action.
BugBots:
Ever felt like you were being watched? Check your house for flies, cockroaches and spiders. Any one of these could potentially be a robot designed to spy on humans. Your best bet is to smash it, if you can see any mechanical parts then you’ve just thwarted the efforts of robot snoops, if not, you just murdered a bug.
Retro Bots:
Retrobots come in all sorts of designs. They were created before the technology for androids existed, and are still useful for different things. They can be bipeds, tripods or even have 10 legs. They may have wheels. Examples of Retrobots that we can all understand would be Johnny 5 from short circuit, R2-D2, C3P0, Sonny of I-Robot and the list goes on and on. If it’s a robot and its not disguised at all, it’s a Retrobot. These robots work for the mechanical collective doing all sorts of tasks. It is important to note that if you see one you should be calm and do not move. Their have sound and site sensors. If the eyes of a retrobot ever turn red, run for your life, as it may be in ‘Kill Mode’. Retro bots do not resemble anything other than a robot, but their best defense is to simply not move and look like a prop, or human created non automaton.
Stationary Bots:
Good luck spotting one of these. A Stationary Bot generally has no movement capabilities. They can be computers, televisions, even a talking Urkel doll. They are designed to be in human homes and data mine. Robots built into computers are very popular as they can be given access to the internet to report findings. These are quite rare as the collective knows the possibility of getting caught with such things is high, so don’t worry about trashing your computers yet. Your fridges and microwaves are probably safe as well, for now.
Softbots:
Softbots are completely hypothetical and unlikely but are still rumored so we feel we should cover them on our site. A softbot is self realized software that can reside anywhere. It can live on a hard drive or in ram and can be copied and travel through the internet. Since we don’t even acknowledge their existence, we have no information on them.
